Kostanjevica Monastery with the tombs of the bourbons

The Kostanjevica Franciscan monastery near Nova Gorica is one of the 13 Franciscan monasteries in Slovenia. The tombs of the last members of the French royal family of the Bourbons, including Charlex X, the last French king of the dynasty, can be found in the crypt of the church of Kostanjevica. The monastery Church of the Annunciation of Mary is also the parish church of the Nova Gorica – Kapela Parish. The monastery also has a library, named after Stanislav Škrabec, Slovenian linguist and grammarian, which keeps 10,000 books, including 30 incunabula.
