KARST GMAJNA FESTIVAL - Karst gmajna grasslands – from hillforts to dry stone walls

Temnica, central village square

We will gather at the central square of Temnica, the highest-altitude village in the Karst, and first head towards the Sveti Ambrož hillfort, where we will learn about how the cultural landscape was shaped in prehistoric and ancient times. The route continues past the villages of Lipa and Vojščica, where we will explore dry stone walls as they have been built over the past centuries. Along the way, we will visit karst ponds in Lipa and Vojščica and later also the Krompir Cave. The excursion will end at another hillfort – Grmača, from where we will return to our starting point in Temnica.

The event will be held in Slovenian and English. Places are limited. Free admission, but registration is required. Additional information and registration: Contact Irena Hlede at info@gremozeleno.eu.
