Learning Point – Učna točka is part of a network of selected locations in Slovenia that offer unique educational content, appealing to everyone, especially younger generations. Each Learning Point provides engaging information about Slovenian culture, history, important personalities, remarkable world landmarks, technological achievements, various business activities, places, buildings, projects, and more. It offers visitors a rich and unique experience of acquiring new knowledge through an original educational adventure.
A Learning Point is marked at a selected location with an information board and a link to an electronic map, which not only allows visitors to explore the content of the current location but also enables them to discover all Learning Points in the network and uncover interesting places that invite exploration—either in person or from the comfort of one's home.
LEARNING POINT – MONUMENT OF PEACE at Cerje
The Monument of Peace at Cerje is an exceptional location on Slovenia’s far western edge, right on the border with Italy. With its magnificent architecture, interior, and historical and artistic collections, it pays tribute to the memory of our ancestors while also looking toward the future. A visit serves as a symbolic expression of gratitude to all those who contributed to preserving Slovenian land and achieving national independence, as well as an opportunity to understand the importance of fostering peace as a fundamental value of modern global society.
This stone fortress is set in a natural amphitheater, offering breathtaking views of the Adriatic Sea, the Alps, and the surrounding landscape, which features special landmarks connected to the strengthening of Slovenian identity.
