Green Scheme of Slovenian Tourism

The Municipality of Miren - Kostanjevica is located in an area of exceptional biodiversity, almost entirely protected under NATURA 2000. We aim to preserve this precious heritage for future generations while ensuring that both locals and visitors can enjoy, respect, and help sustain it.

In 2018, we embarked on the journey to obtain the Slovenia Green Destination certification, committing ourselves to the strategic development of sustainable tourism. We are building a tourism model that is environmentally sustainable, socially and economically beneficial, and attractive to all who appreciate natural and cultural heritage. Thanks to our efforts, we were among the first destinations to receive the golden Slovenia Green label, followed by numerous other internationally recognized awards.

Miren Kras is a sustainable, safe, and health-friendly destination, attractive throughout the year for a multi-day relaxing retreat. It welcomes guests who seek peace, silence, and unspoiled nature, as well as those interested in outdoor activities, rich cultural and historical heritage, and exquisite cuisine.
